Rejuvenating Retreats – Mexico and Canada

Mexican retreats are held at my beautiful, tropical home and garden in Rincon de Guayabitos, Mexico, just one hour north of Puerto Vallarta’s airport.

Please see all information re upcoming Mexican retreats further down on this page.

Canadian retreats are held in  Vancouver, BC, on a secluded, pristine lake just an hour from downtown or the Vancouver airport.

We had a fabulous retreat at Loon Lake in Vancouver, BC in September, 2017.  See the photos and reviews:

“I loved the socializing, canoeing and the scenery.”

“I loved the 90-minute yoga classes, especially partner poses.”

“The workshops reaffirmed my own beliefs regarding many concepts such as positive thinking, the power of our good intentions, gratitude and forgiveness.”

“This retreat was a time to nourish my soul and reflect on where and what I want to do going forward in my life.”

Want to join us for the next retreat at Loon Lake? Mark your calendar for September 25-28, 2018 and register for the early bird rate now on our SHOP page!

For September, 2018, we will expand the program to TWO yoga classes per day, always the gentle Hatha yoga with fun Kundalini stretches and a few Pilates-type exercises for the core.

There is also an interesting and informative workshop every day on the theme Transformation – Body, Mind and Soul.  You will have the opportunity to transform your body with the yoga, learning what each pose does for you.  You will transform your mind by healing the past and learning new ways of moving forward.  And you will be transformed spiritually through meditation, nature walks, and harnessing life energies to live more productively and joyfully.

Loon Lake is a new and stunning venue for us, only one hour from Vancouver centre or Vancouver/Abbotsford airports (no ferries).  I find this possibly the most beautiful spot I’ve seen anywhere in Canada!  The lake is unspoiled (and swimmable in September), the forest is natural and quiet with two hiking trails, one for 45 minutes, the other for three hours.  We have canoes available at our own dock too.  The schedule allows four consecutive hours for activities after lunch every day, and lots of free time in the evening.

Note that our group has full possession of a private lodge, with our own chef, kitchen and private dining room.  Our lodge also includes a lounge with fireplace, outdoor patios, a fire pit, and our own dock onto the lake.  Bedrooms accommodate singles, doubles or up to four people in spacious rooms with ensuite.  All rooms have a forest or water view.

RATES – Rates include three nights’ accommodation, three delicious meals plus a morning snack every day, yoga, workshops, meditations, hiking and canoeing.  5% GST is charged.  There are no additional fees.

Early bird rates are $980 each for a shared room, $880 each for sharing three or four people (room with four beds, no bunks).  A single room is $1150.  Deposit is $300, another $300 is due by March 31st and the final payment by July 15th, 2018.  Act now to ensure your spot in this wonderful adventure.  (Payments are refundable until 90 days before the event.  After that payments can be applied to any future retreat in Canada or Mexico.)

Mexico Retreats

Mexico Retreat, March 4th – 9th, 2018

Theme:  How to Live to Be 100

The Mexico retreats offer a 90-minute, healing yoga class at 7:30 AM, preceded by an optional sunrise meditation and tea/coffee break.  A fresh, natural breakfast follows the yoga class, and then we move into our 2-hour workshop.  A full hot lunch, with a salad bar concludes the daily retreat events, freeing everyone to do other activities after 1:30.

Yoga is gentle and healing, primarily Hatha, suitable for beginners to intermediates.  It is done on a beautiful outdoor patio.

The workshops are always a wonderful learning experience. With the theme How to Live to Be 100, we will look at changes we can make physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually to live a healthier happier life.  Discussions are fun, interactive and exceptional learning opportunities.

All participants will receive a copy of my book, Why I Cancelled My Health Insurance, to use as a guide.

The early bird rate is $600 CAN.  This includes the sunrise meditation, all yoga, workshops, morning tea/coffee break, a full breakfast and a hot lunch – all fresh and delicious. (Accommodation is not included but I can recommend local places.)

Theme:  Choosing Miracles

This retreat has the same venue and schedule as the March retreat but workshops will be based on the theme Choosing Miracles. Time for me.  In my busy world, this is a time just for me, that I relish. It is wonderful to meet like minded people who share a passion for learning new things and yoga. It is also a wonderful time to reconnect with past attendees.  –Shawn, attended four years in row.

Time for Reflection.  It was a time to reflect on my life while being guided how I can improve it each day.  –Patty W, attended two years in a row.

Living in a Divine State.  (The retreat was about) revisiting ego and its force brought me back to working on recognizing it on a moment to moment basis and attempting to move past it to respond and live in a more “divine mind” state. –Robin, attended two years in a row.

Awesome Week.  This week reinforced a lot of principals I try to live by…was reminded of the importance of being grateful and living with an attitude to shift your life. –C. Pierson, attended three times.  Brooks, Alberta.

Small Steps.  I learned that I carry a lot of worry, and now choose to release worry in my life and live a peaceful, joyful existence. –M. McNamara, attended twice.  Kamloops, B.C.

Wonderful 1st Time Experience Located in the residential area at Agneta’s new home and outdoor yoga studio, the “Guayabitos Yoga Retreat–How to Live to Be a Hundred”, proved to be an invigorating, week-long experience. Surrounded by ocean views, beautiful gardens, hummingbirds and iguanas, this setting provides a perfect backdrop for the retreat. Days beginning with sunrise meditation and yoga geared to individual participants set the tone for the remainder of the day. Discussion sessions relating to “How to Live to Be a Hundred” and the role that mind body and spirit play in being healthy and whole at any age, were thought provoking and provided me with an awareness of how I can improve my well being.  This retreat is tailored to the needs of both men and women. Overall, the retreat provided excellent value and would provide both new and experienced yogis with a valuable experience. It’s an excellent investment in oneself.–Keith V, attended three years. (Lethbridge, AB. Canada)

A job well done-Rejuvenating Yoga Retreat  This year was yet another amazing yoga retreat. It is always so nice to take a whole week and focus on myself. Great yoga every day, wonderful thoughtful topics that I will continue to think about and use to grow spiritually, yummy healthy food and best of all the company of old friends and some new friends. Thanks Agneta!  – Lauri K, attended two years in a row

Wonderful!  First of all the tropical location is beautiful.
The day is very nicely paced and well organized, with options for all the different levels of our yoga practice and room to stretch and improve. There is opportunity for personal time if you need or want to discuss anything specific with Agneta.  The workshops are illuminating and thought-provoking with everyone participating in an informal discussion on the topic of the day.  The food is creative, tasty, fresh and nourishing, I so look forward to the breakfasts and lunches!  – Marie D, attended Mexico retreat twice
