Rejuvenating Retreats in Mexico

 

Retreats in Mexico are all held at my beautiful home in Guayabitos, Nayarit, just one hour from the airport in Puerto Vallarta.

Retreats include morning sunrise meditation followed by a snack, tea, coffee and green juice.  Then we enjoy a 90-minute yoga class on the outdoor patio, surrounded by flowers, palm trees and hummingbirds.  Yoga is gentle and healing, primarily Hatha, suitable for beginners to intermediates.

A delicious breakfast buffet follows, hearty and including a cornucopia of local fruit.  The two-hour workshop is inter-active and focuses on different themes for each retreat.  All are inspiring and motivating, and demonstrate how we can make our lives healthier and happier.  Participants always enjoy the discussions in twos, and engage as much as they are comfortable doing.

We finish with a full, hot lunch, catered by the best chef in town.  All past guests have raved about the fabulous food.  (See reviews at bottom of this page.)

All activities are optional for participants, and are completed by 2:00 PM so everyone is free to spend the afternoons and evenings enjoying the beach and trying out local restaurants for dinner.

Retreats, Winter 2019 – 2020

The regular rate for a full retreat (6 days) is $600 CAD, deposit of $300.  For the new mini-retreats end of January, the rate is $400 CAD, deposit of $200.  Payments are refundable (minus $50) until 90 days before retreat.  After that, any payments already made can be applied 100% to a future retreat.

Rates include the sunrise meditation, all yoga, workshops, morning tea/coffee break, a full breakfast and a hot lunch. (Accommodation is not included but I can recommend local places.)

Theme: – I Love My Life!

Living Life with Joy

Ever wonder why life isn’t as joyful as it’s supposed to be?  Do you feel weighed down by the events of the world?  We all deserve to be happy.  Discussing Buddhist and Western schools of thought, we will learn how to shift our focus, relax and really enjoy life.

I love the idea of posting little mantras daily in conspicuous places and will try to do this.

January 29th – February 1st

(mini-retreat)

Theme: – Transformation:  Body, Mind and Soul

Here we will transform the body with gentle, healing yoga and transform the mind with exercises that help us to heal the past by letting go of anger, guilt, fear and sadness.  Finally, we will learn how to bring Spirit into our lives  in order to live a happy and fulfilled life.

The sharing of our thoughts and feelings through discussions during the workshops was very powerful….this is what I intend to do more of.

 

March 1st – 6th

Theme:  Transitions after 50, 60, 70:

Finding Clarity and Inspiration as Life Changes

Major life changes, including retirement or the anticipation of retirement, sometimes bring about confusion and lack of motivation.  And yet this can be the beginning of some of the best chapters of your life.  Here we will learn to recognize and release undermining habits, and develop values-based intentions that guide us into this wonderful, new era.

The retreat was another wonderful and important step in understanding myself and becoming a better person. My soul opened, my purpose became clearer, my body both relaxed and strengthened and my mind learned to focus. Life is wonderful and it can only get better!!

Wonderful 1st Time Experience Located in the residential area at Agneta’s new home and outdoor yoga studio, the “Guayabitos Yoga Retreat–How to Live to Be a Hundred”, proved to be an invigorating, week-long experience. Surrounded by ocean views, beautiful gardens, hummingbirds and iguanas, this setting provides a perfect backdrop for the retreat. Days beginning with sunrise meditation and yoga geared to individual participants set the tone for the remainder of the day. Discussion sessions relating to “How to Live to Be a Hundred” and the role that mind body and spirit play in being healthy and whole at any age, were thought provoking and provided me with an awareness of how I can improve my well being.  This retreat is tailored to the needs of both men and women. Overall, the retreat provided excellent value and would provide both new and experienced yogis with a valuable experience. It’s an excellent investment in oneself.–Keith, attended three years. Wonderful!  First of all the tropical location is beautiful. The day is very nicely paced and well organized, with options for all the different levels of our yoga practice and room to stretch and improve.
